Fake Christians, that include leaders, are already in our churches and group meetings. The spirit they operate in, is so deceptive that in most cases they go about their mission unnoticed. Those that attempt to differ with them face harsh responses and nasty opposition. Since this is uncharacteristic of a sincere Christian, their behavior, cause confusion to those that are seeking God. Normally, nobody comes out in the open to expose them because the spirit in them creates fear its environment.
1 Timothy 4:1 (NIV) The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons
These people are not just hypocrites, they are agents of satan. Ordinary hypocrites know very well that they are not serving God. These type believe they are serving God.
The bible says in Mathew 7:16 (NKJV) You will know them by their fruits…. One of the fruits is hate, and can be discerned as a guarded coldness towards any perceived threats! See the topic on bad fruits, based on Galatians 5:19-21.
The main identifiable characteristics of these type of Christians is the tendency to control or to lead a spiritual gathering, like a church, a prayer group, a choir, a women group, a youth group or a home bible study group. Once they are in those elevated positions, the evil spirit in them goes into action by injecting error in the believe system of anybody that it gets in contact with them. Normally because of their positions of authority the group members lower their guard against the unclean spirit in the leader. This sets them up for easily manipulation. Within a short period of time, the group is defiled. Then there is a gradual increase in spiritual defilement characterised by moral decay. Things that could not be mentioned in a christian group before become a daily occurrence. Not long after that, some members of the group loose their moral compass and are unable to tell where evil begins or ends. Members who previously sought God in Spirit and in truth are unable to overcome basic temptations!
The Role of The Jezebel Spirit in The Fake Bride of Christ
All these groups will have something in common, a controlling spirit! Jesus identified one of these spirits as Jezebel, one of the most dangerous and deceptive of all satan’s spirits. Many Christians have a misconceived idea of what a Jezebel is. Many think it’s a spirit of prostitution because that is what has always been depicted by carnal bible scholars! We would all wish it was and it will be easy to deal with.
The Jezebel spirit is an anti-Christ spirit. This is a very evil spirit that hides under pride, rebellion, control and manipulation. These traits keeps us busy trying to manage the environment it operates in. The person to be pitied is the host of this spirit. You cannot easily help or reach them.
One of the most common characteristics that gives a hint that this spirit is at work targeting an individual or a group (members of a prayer group, close friends or family members) is the tendency of the targets to self destruct, have difficulties in socioeconomic environment, rebellion to authority and increase in worldliness. Where there is a bit of a spiritual resistance but no protection, weird accidents and incidences happen to close associates of the Jezebel host. Random unnatural sins are mentioned among the group or the Jezebel spirit hosts but the presence of witchcraft filled environment poisons the minds of everybody around them and they are unable to reason . Those who try are resisted, forced to quickly cave in and are back to toeing the line. There is also a gradual change of true believers into unbelievers through injected strive, doubts, wrong doctrines, all types of defilements and slander.
A person hosting this spirit teaches others not to believe in the existence of evil spirits or demons. This mindset makes it easy for unsuspecting persons to be properly demonized and with no chance of deliverance, a trick used by the devil to make the world think he does not exist.
In the end this group becomes a fake bride of Christ. They would be praying and organizing prayer meetings that have a lot of fanfare with loud prayers but worshiping the living God is not the sincere agenda of the groups. The activities are a platform for self edification and preaching idolatry.
Jezebel Deception Through Speaking In Tongues
Please don’t be blinded by someone because they pray in tongues . It’s not the speaking in tongues that matter but what is being said in these tongues. We identify the servants of God by their fruits especially love, not tongues. The servants of God have the fruits of the Holy Spirit and you can’t fake that.
Mathew 7: 20-21 So then, by their fruit you will recognize them. Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven.…
Galatians 5: 22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no Law
According to Paul the Corinthians were edifying tongue speaking at the expense of getting rid of evil
1 Corinthians 14:18-20 I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you. But in the church, I would rather speak five coherent words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue. Brothers, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be mature.…
What do you think happens when the Holy Spirit leaves a person? The person has no love. Instead they have a different spirit. The twinging of the tongue becomes just a clanging cymbal as Paul said to the Corinthians
1 Corinthians 13:1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal
Managing the reality as a host of the Jezebel Spirit
What should you do if you are a host of the Jezebel spirit?
Many people who host the Jezebel spirit in them or tolerate a person that has a Jezebel spirit, don’t believe in a christian being demonized.
Do you believe in a Christian being demonized? If NOT, then you need to know that you are missing the awareness of a crucial battle ground that satan uses to fight us. That is, ourselves!
The enemy is within!
Rom 7:20 (NLT) But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.
Managing the reality as victim of the Jezebel Spirit
What should you do if you are a victim of the Jezebel spirit or a Jezebel Controlled Church Group?
I am tempted to say run for your life, but will ask you to seek God as you ponder on the following thoughts from a former victim of this spirit.
Withdraw from the group and avoid flirting back to the group or association with any of the loyal members by prayer or fellowship. This action breaks any ungodly ties you still have with the group.
Repent and confess any sins that the Holy Spirit convicts you to. This will help get rid of any impure spirits’ strongholds within you. You have to get rid of what is at war with your spirit and lives within you otherwise you will be fighting a losing battle.
Seek God in spirit and in truth by having quiet moments with Him.
Ask God to guide you to persons who worship God in spirit and in truth and pray together.
If you can join another group or church, please do but keep praying for all members of your former group.
Do not confront the group or a member of the group. Just continue praying and seeking God for direction!
Get rid of all bitterness if any against the group or persons in the group.
Walk in holiness. Shun all evil and especially sins that defile you! Avoid gossip (the sin of the tongue) and sexual immorality are on top of the list! The common tools that the Jezebel spirit uses to defile members of a group so that they become ineffective in prayer!
Give yourself to learning from the Holy Spirit. Desire spiritual gifts especially the spirit of discernment so that you can tell whether someone or a group is operating under the Holy Spirit or a different spirit .
1 John 4:1 (NIV) Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
God encourages us to expose evil, let Him lead you to when to do it, your audience or how to do it. If you are doing it out of bitterness towards another human being, please stop and repent! Bitterness can have a destructive anger! If you have bitterness but its against the devil, then it is ok. This is a corrective anger! It is like God’s wrath which is meant for our good and not harm. It has love in it!
Romans 1:18 (NLT) But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. Read the rest of the verses, 19-32 if you can! Lots of insights about the current world of sins!
