We all desire to live a righteous and a radiant Christian lifestyle. This may not happen because we run into problems with sincerity. We fail to deal with sins within us but instead board the wrong train in pursuit of happiness. This train happens to be the devil’s train of Glitz and Glamour. Before long we end up in our own hell covered in shame and crying foul!
Why? Everything starts to play up like in a horror movie. All seem not to work through the abundance of earthly riches that we’ve acquired. Reason? Nothing in this train brings glory to God.
We idolise wealth, health, family, our own abilities and even social connections! These are the very things that are meant to be a blessing but instead become a curse to us! We hold God in contempt and make jokes about worshiping the provider of these blessings as if we are the authors of our mortal lives! Our lifestyles end up bringing glory only to us and therefore motivate those who don’t have these things to pursue them at any cost!
Material gain is an automatic achievement to humans, so long as they work hard for it. This is according to the law that was set up by God at the beginning of creation! Genesis 3:19 (NIV) By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food…
God’s promises are made up of things of a higher calling. It is a spiritual endeavour beyond wealth or physical provision!
It is therefore wrong to equate our reconciliation and worshiping God with material gain. It is a lie from hell for humans to preoccupy themselves with what God has already provided and therefore missing the goal of true worship!
God has promised blessings of all types in our lives. Once we remove ourselves from positions of compromise with evil, spiritual will flow into our lives! You will be satisfied more with the spiritual blessings for they are the real need in any human! Wealthy people still take their lives, divorce, kill, hate, etc because their real need, which is spiritual, has not been met!
Please remember that no matter the number of promises God has made, He will fulfil them for His glory not for your glory!
2 Corinthians 1:20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.
What are some of the blessings that God Has promised to His worshipers?
Let us look at the following scriptures and enumerate the main lessons that we as humans can hold on!
Haggai 2:7-9 (NIV) I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord Almighty. The silver is mine and the gold is mine,’ declares the LORD Almighty. The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the LORD Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the LORD Almighty.”
Mathew 6:32-33 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
God will restore your former glory (Man had a rightful position in God’s kingdom. This will be restored)
Silver and gold belongs to God, it should not push you to go the wrong way. You are now a child of God (If God provides to those that worship curved images of dead people or living animals like cows how much will He not care for you who worship Him as the Creator of the universe and everything in it)
God will grant you peace.
Malachi 4:2 (NLT) “But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture.
God will heal you and you will be happy and jump around like a well-fed calf.
Psalm 34:5 (NIV) Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame
You will not be covered with any type of shame but instead you will have a radiant face.
Acts 6:15 All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel
When God anoints you, you will shine like an angel even in the middle of persecution like Stephen did when he faced a hostile council of religious leaders who were out to get him.
There is no doubt that the list of God promises is endless!
