God and Creation
God created everything on earth. He created us in his own image. After the creation God was happy with his work and He said it was very good.
Genesis 1: 27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Genesis 1:31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning–the sixth day
How was man created?
Genesis 2:7 Then the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.
Man and the Continuing Creation
God wants us to participate in His continuing creation of men so that we can own it and take care of it. He made sure that both man and woman owns the child so that they become co-caretakers of His most precious creation. Creation of a new human starts when the gametes from both male and female come together merging their DNA’s into one DNA and form a single cell that has it’s own identity ready to multiply. Egg + Sperm = Zygote.
I believe somewhere in the embryonic stage, God breaths the breath of life. It’s not a new doctrine but it’s my believe.
What is physical death? When the soul leaves the body, life in the body ends. The body decays and returns to the earth (dust)
Ecclesiastes 12:7 For then the dust will return to the earth, and the spirit will return to God who gave it
Genesis 3:19 By the sweat of your face You will eat bread, Till you return to the ground, Because from it you were taken; For you are dust, And to dust you shall return
The Human War – The Spanner in the works
We would be living in paradise today if Adam and Eve didn’t sin. Through their own free will they chose to believe a lie and doubt their creator. They became rebellious to God just like their deceiver, the devil.
God had established rules that governed everything. He could not break His own rules. He had created man in His own image and a free will. He had to let man go. God must have been heart broken when this relationship broke. I can only imagine how a loving parent feels when a child doubts them and makes a wrong decision. You will feel betrayed and at the same time time you can’t break the rule but let the child make their own choice.
I knew of a high school teacher who was so heartbroken when his daughter married a drug addict that he could not recover from the shock. He died a few weeks later of high blood pressure.
Since Adam and Eve’s rebellion, man has been in a daily battle for survival. It’s a long war. The war started in heaven. The devil and his angels rebelled against God. They fought with the angels still on God’s side and were defeated and hurled down from heaven . The devil doesn’t like us that much. Why? Because we are God’s precious creation and made from His own image(Genesis 1: 27). When the devil looks at us, he sees God. That must make him very mad. He has only one option, to throw a spanner in God’s works. We happen to be part of that work and the spanner is definitely hurting us.
Revelations 12: 8 But the dragon was not strong enough, and no longer was any place found in heaven for him and his angels. 9 And the great dragon was hurled down — the ancient serpent called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ. For the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, he who accuses them day and night before our God.…
Satan Is Furious. Why?
Revelations 12:12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.”
Where Is Our Salvation?
Our salvation is in Jesus Christ. He brought His Kingdom on earth to fight the devil and his evils spirits. We need to put our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ in order to live in victory over evil.
It has been a long time for man since the days of Eden and since the days of the Tower of Babel when God scattered men into different directions on earth.
Genesis 11:4 Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens… ” 8 So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city.
Humans became so preoccupied with what they were doing that God became a mythical being and a distance object to generations that came after living Babel.
There is so much evidence today in different cultural traditions of how man has tried to understand his creator. The devil has also made sure that instead of seeking the real God, these traditions that are absolute rubbish are being packaged as religions, that is different ways to God.
God had to start somewhere to redeem man. God uses what we understand best. He used an earthly nation to reveal His Kingdom. The tiny country of Israel served as an example of Man’s salvation from the devil. In their involvement with God, the effects of disobedience and obedience were clear. The Jews were captured, imprisoned, killed because of their disobedience to God, but every time they obeyed God, He gave them victory over their enemies.
God had an eternal plan of establishing a spiritual kingdom on earth and saving mankind from spiritual death.
He promised to establish a kingdom that will be there forever. This plan was unveiled to us through Abraham all the way to king David and the prophets. He made promises to man through these men. There was a promise of many descendants, a never ending Kingdom and the coming of Jesus.
Most Jews missed this and rejected Jesus as the promised saviour and eternal King. This is because the kingdom is of a spiritual nature not an earthly one.
Galatians 3:29 And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.
1 Samuel 2 : 16 Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever. 17 Nathan reported to David all the words of this entire revelation.
John 3:14 13 No one has ascended into heaven except the One who descended from heaven—the Son of Man. 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up 15 that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life
Numbers 21:9 So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, they lived
It’s A Spiritual War
When Jesus started the ministry of salvation, He began dealing with an army of evil spirits. This spirits cause spiritual blindness, emotional torments, confusion and body affliction.
Jesus’s mission among others was to cast them out of our bodies. Later the Holy Spirit came to help us keep these evil forces away.
Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free
Luke 4: 32 They were astonished at His teaching, because His message had authority. 33 In the synagogue there was a man possessed by the spirit of an unclean demon. He cried out in a loud voice, 34 “Ha! What do You want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are, the Holy One of God!”
Jesus’s disciples and by extension us, were given authority over evils spirits.
Luke 10:So He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 See, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will harm you. 20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven
All believers are to have this power over the devil. Paul persecuted Christians believing that he was serving the government of the day against citizens rebellion. What he didn’t know is that he was actually serving the devil. When God saved him he was heartbroken and repentant. God gave him immense power over evil.
Acts 19:11-12 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them
The devil would want us to believe that our fight is against flesh and blood so that we end up in failure. Our fight is spiritual and when we fight it this way, we will win.
Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms
The ARMOUR Weapon we have against our spiritual enemy
Ephesians 6: 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation….
The ASSAULT Weapon we have against our spiritual enemy
17 …the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
