It is common knowledge that curses and negative words are effective on the intended target, if there is a valid cause, and when spoken by a person who has authority over your life. This person could be a parent, a guardian or someone related to you by marriage. It is also known that ‘professionals’ such as the spiritists, mediums and those who practice the art of dark spirituality can be used to call evil over your life by using spoken words!

We have other groups of people who are equally lethal but are generally considered harmless. This includes people who engage in character assassination, mockery, peddling hate and gossip.

Though taken as normal, people who are defined by these groups are demonised by a spirit of witchcraft and therefore cannot help it but use negative words when talking about others. Unfortunately, these category of people may feel compelled to say negative words against you because of anger, jealousy, saying it to mock you, to destroy you, to challenge you or as an act of revenge.

It is important to note that, the unexplained urge to use spoken words to poke fun, demean someone, hurt, control, derail someone’s future or force them to act against their will or wish, is an act driven by the unclean spirit of witchcraft.

Whatever the reason for negativity, all negative words must be taken seriously, as they are spiritually harmful to human life, and can become a curse if there is a valid cause.

Words that don’t build but destroy humans are obviously bad fruits coming out of people! Matthew 7:16 (New KJV) You will know them by their fruits… These fruits are devil’s weapons stored in a person to destroy other people spiritually and eventually wreck their life!

Remember that if parents are involved either knowingly or unknowingly, please make peace with them. Where possible, talk to them and seek forgiveness from God. Many people have brought spiritual havoc to their lives by ignoring issues between them and their parents!

Negative words may be said by persons you know or persons you don’t know. They could also be said by persons paid to say them. If there is no spiritually-binding reason to be cursed, then take every curse directed at you as a bird teasing to perch on you. It will not touch you!

Proverbs 26:2 (NIV) Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest

There is a problem though if words were said in the past where a spiritually binding cause existed, has been inherited, is hidden and cannot be specifically repented. It is unfortunate that some causes of curses are unknown and are passed on to us from our parents, grandparents or great grandparents! It is important to repent your sins and also repent wrongs done by your ancestors, as some of the things they did could have attracted generational curses from words spoken against them. We are in that period as seen by the prophets (Ezekiel 18:20, Jeremiah 31:29), where the sins of the parents will not be held accountable to the children, so long as they live righteously. True righteousness is only found through the action of Jesus on the cross. This is a high Spiritual Authority against all sins!

Since all curses in our lives have a spiritual dimension and originate from the spiritual powers of darkness, expect the solution to these problems to come from this high Spiritual Authority! This Authority will help you break the power of negative words spoken over your life. Negative words laced with power of evil intent are alive and are like snakes, they bite you in one way or the other. The effect of these bites flow like poison to kill your future and the lives of people in your future like children, grandchildren and great grandchildren!

I used to really worry and fear about my future but when the truth hit me, my life opened up to reality of who God is! I endeavoured to live a life free of all falsehoods. I now fearlessly worship Him in Spirit and truth! I no longer fear the words of mockers, liars, the jealous and those who plot against me for I know that their days are numbered! Isaiah 29:20 NIV) The ruthless will vanish, the mockers will disappear, and all who have an eye for evil will be cut down…

My confidence comes from God’s word! In it I have encountered one miracle after another! I have embraced His way of dealing with me and His reward of peace that is beyond human understanding has given my spirit rest!

In the past, sins and curses were dealt with by way of shedding blood! After the generation of Adam, many people forgot their origins! Therefore, human traditions or cultures that followed, sacrificed animals or persons as sin offerings to the unknown, to idols and some did it to demons! The Creator corrected these practices by revealing Himself again to mankind. A record of this is captured in the history of the Jewish people in ancient Israel and recorded in the old testament section of the bible.

As I study His word, it becomes clear that God Has always been ready to redeem and protect us humans. I see Him in action saving people who were experiencing similar struggles to ours.

In the New Testament section of the bible, we see Jesus become the lamb without blemish and was killed as sin offering for all mankind. In a single swipe, His death on the cross, became the final blow to the spiritual powers of dark forces in hell that had been against humans since time began!

We now have, and can own the way out of these curses through His word. We only need to acknowledge the act of Jesus’ crucifixion and the meaning behind it. See if you can follow the pattern below that explains in details how crucifixion takes away curses from us.

Numbers 21:8 (NIV) The LORD said to Moses, “Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.”

Numbers 21:9 (CSB) So Moses made a bronze snake and mounted it on a pole. Whenever someone was bitten, and he looked at the bronze snake, he recovered.

Galatians 3:13(NIV) Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” (This is a Quote from Deuteronomy 21:23(NIV) … because anyone who is hung on a pole is under God’s curse…)

John 3:14-15(AKJV) And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Let’s meditate on the scriptures and claim what God has promised us through His words.

NEGATIVE WORDS AGAINST HIS FAITHFULS ARE CANCELLED

Isaiah 54:17 (KJV) No weapon formed against thee shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn*. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord

NB: *The word condemn also means ‘challenge’,’ cancel’, ‘reverse’, etc

Let us not live in fear and give in to evil! We have that heritage, to be freed from negative words spoken against us!

ALL CURSES (INCLUDING SPOKEN WORDS) ARE REVOKED THROUGH THE CROSS

Galatians 3:13 (NLT) But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”

Now that you know the power you have from what Jesus did for you on the cross, you can say the following prayer.

Words spoken by myself to me and to others

I revoke and condemn every negative word that I have spoken over myself or over others touching on my future or their future. (Take time to genuinely turn your mindset. Forgive yourself and others). I repent from words I have spoken audibly and those I have spoken silently. I ask that You release me and all those affected by those words. I repent for all the ungodly vows and spoken words that are contrary to Your will, O God, and I break the power of them now in the name and authority of Jesus Christ.

Words spoken by others to me

I also break the power of negative words directed at me from others. Words for fun, words spoken out of fear, words spoken to demean me, words spoken out of anger, criticisms, offence, malice, ill will, envy, jealousy, unforgiveness and bitterness towards me.

I break the power of false prophetic words.

I break the power of negative words spoken against me in the past, now and in future from authority figures such as parents, teachers, et cetera.

I break any evil powers over my belief system. I call my belief system back into alignment with the word of God.

I break the power of negative words that are associated with evil spirits through the use of occult, spells, incantations, potions, and all forms of magic and witchcraft.

All spoken words that have been assigned to me in order to plant curses in my life, are now broken and all curses made void.

I command in the name of Jesus Christ that all evil spirits associated with these curses leave me now and go to hell immediately.

I close the doorways to the sources of these curses.

I cover the doorways with the blood of Jesus Christ.

I break the soul ties associated with the sources of these curses in Jesus name.

I declare only faith, peace, joy, love, and confidence in the Lord Jesus Christ. I will now prosper in my heart, my mind and in my spirit in Jesus name. Let the love from Your Holy Spirit and Your mercy and Your acceptance be clear in my heart. Please release your revelation, truth and understanding in my heart and mind.

Fill me now with your gift of discernment Father. I thank You and I thank the Holy Spirit for releasing blessings into my life.

Thank You for breaking the yoke of bondage and oppression that came from negative words spoken against me by myself or by others.

It’s now important that whatever you say from this point onward be a blessing to yourself and others. Guard your tongue from inflicting curses on yourself or others!

Always speak positively about yourself, refuse in Jesus Name, any negative words spoken about you or against you! Accept every positive word spoken about you.
